Cerec 3D. This is the latest piece of dental equipment that we have attained at Harpenden Dental Centre that allows us to make any permanent natural coloured ceramic restorations without the need for impressions or a second visit to the dentist. This means that you can get your crown made and fitted on the same visit. This has been made possible by using a special optical imaging unit that creates a 3D image of the tooth. From this with the use of Computer Aided Design Technology the new restoration can be designed and then milled in the Cerec Milling Machine.

The machine also provides a fanastic alternative to amalgam. Instead of silver fillings the tooth can be restored with ceramic inlays or onlays. These restorations by far supersede the old white filling material, otherwise known as composite, for restoring broken or discoloured teeth.
